Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) meets a Russian Delegation led by the Capital Governorate
Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) received a delegation from the Russian embassy led by the Capital Governorate to discuss the latest training developments in Islamic Finance at the Institute Campus located in Juffair.
The Russian Delegation was represented by Mr. Ruslan Guchetl in the presence of two delegates from the Capital Governorate: Strategic Planning Director Mr. Yusuf Lori and Senior Programme Coordinator Ms. Fatima Al Ali, and from the BIBF Deputy Director Dr. Ahmed AbdulHameed AbdulGhani Al Shaikh.
The participants discussed the growth of the Islamic Finance market and the latest research studies in this field. Mr. Guchetl expressed his interest in cooperating with the BIBF and to know more about its programmes. The delegation discussed replicating BIBF’s experience in Russia based on plans to start a model of Islamic Finance Training, as BIBF is the leading institute in Islamic Banking and Financial Studies in the region.
The BIBF’s Deputy Director, Dr. Ahmed AbdulHameed AbdulGhani Al Shaikh welcomed the delegation and stated: “The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) welcomes all aspects of cooperation with the various embassies and consulates, we are delighted to share our knowledge and experience and transfer our training model in regards to Islamic Finance training to an international audience.”
This meeting comes as part of the Capital Governorate’s efforts to follow-up talks after the visit to St. Petersburg last October. The delegates from the Capital Governorate headed by Capital Governor His Excellency Shaikh Hisham Bin AbdulRahman Al Khalifa. His Excellency assured the Russian Governor of St. Petersburg that the Kingdom of Bahrain is the best financial centre in Islamic Banking in the region. His Excellency invited the Russian side to benefit from Bahrain’s experience in Islamic Banking, for promising economic prospects between the two countries.
