BIBF activates its e-learning platform and “virtual classroom” during the suspension period
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) announced the activation of the e-learning platform to ensure continuity of the educational process during the suspension period, in line with the directives of the Government’s Executive Committee, chaired by the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as a precaution to ensure the safety of students, in light of national efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The e-learning platform for Academic studies has been activated from Tuesday, 10 March 2020, along with the interactive lecturing mechanisms for students during the suspension period.
Moreover, the interactive platform for distance learning will also be activated with the use of virtual classrooms for all the training programmes and professional qualifications at the BIBF, starting Wednesday, 11 March 2020.
On his part, the BIBF Director, Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Al-Shaikh stated, “The virtual platform (BIBF MyClass 2.0) provides an interactive learning experience with real-time sharing of audio, video, course materials, chat, live white board, course assessments along with live teaching enabled through webcams to ensure the best learning experience for students. The students will also be able to interact with our faculty members along with other attendees during the course sessions.
Dr. Al-Shaikh also stressed that this initiative comes in line with the BIBF’s strategy in dealing with risks in order to ensure continuity of the learning process and to protect the health and safety of the Institute’s community.
