BIBF’s Advance Diploma in Islamic Finance (ADIF) recognised by Coventry University
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) and Coventry University have signed a progression agreement, to enable graduates of the Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance (ADIF) to fast track their Master’s degree in Islamic Finance at Coventry University, UK.
The signing ceremony took place at Coventry University Campus in the UK. The BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh signed the agreement on behalf of the institute while Associate Dean Dr. Yanguo Jing, signed on behalf of Coventry University.
Coventry University is ranked 13th overall in the UK in 2019 in the University league tables issued by The Guardian.
BIBF’s ADIF programme is the oldest Islamic finance professional qualification in the world, established back in 2001, and has over 900 graduates from 20 different countries across the world.
ADIF is the only qualification in the world with a fast track progression route into a UK MBA with the University of Bolton, as well as the aforementioned MSc progression with Coventry University. The ADIF is also mandated by the Central Bank of Bahrain for control positions in Islamic banks.
This is a unique, cost-effective opportunity designed to meet professional career objectives with maximum flexibility, requiring 4 weeks of intensive classroom attendance in a block mode delivery. This is followed by a thesis to be done (remotely). The fast-track programme will also result in a reduction of fees for ADIF graduates.
Associate Dean of Enterprise & Innovation at Coventry University, Dr. Yanguo Jing, welcomed the cooperation with the BIBF on this programme, a move that will broaden the options for students and encourage them to further improve their knowledge in Islamic finance at the Centre for Islamic Finance at Coventry University – considered a leader in this field.
“The agreement with Coventry University further strengthens the quality and global reputation of our Islamic finance qualifications and provides our students with the opportunity to further their studies in the UK and complement their professional qualifications with a valuable, internationally recognised postgraduate degree. In addition it also supports the work of the Higher Education Council (HEC) in developing a high quality, high performing workforce that supports the economic ecosystem of Bahrain”, said BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh.
