Description

BIBF proposes to provide a high-level Cyber Security and IT Trends Awareness session for the Board of Directors (BoD) of BNH. The purpose of this awareness session is to provide training on the key topics and critical aspects of Cyber Security that are essential to BoD members. In addition, this session will provide BoD members with an update on the latest IT Trends and their impact on the business world.

Training Objectives

  • To provide an overview of the cyber threat landscape and its impact and implications.
  • To raise awareness of the dangers of common threats like social engineering and email fraud.
  • To aid the management in decisions involving the implementation of effective security strategies.
  • To provide an update on the latest technologies in the IT industry.
  • To illustrate how IT trends can be applied in the real business environment.

  • Defining IT Security, Information Security, Cyber Security and their respective roles by mapping them on the cyber kill chain.
  • Cyber Attacks
  • Common types of cyber attacks
  • Sources of cyber attacks
  • Impact of cyber threats
  • Evolution of cyber threats over the years (malware, ransomware, worm, virus)
  • Recent attacks & Predicted attacks
  • Cyber Security is a business enabler and not a hurdle
  • Improving Security within the organization:
  • Implementing 2 Factor Authentication
  • Hardening of smartphones, laptops and other devices. Deciding applications and their permissions.
  • What is the cloud? How does it work? The differences between cloud and the internet, private cloud and public cloud. What are their risks?
  • Case studies on recent threats (WannaCry & Petya ransomware, SWIFT compromise, Bangladeshi bank hack)
  • IoT - the internet of things and the risks involved
  • Social Engineering and the dangers of social engineering through Social Media especially LinkedIn, CXO fraud, Business Email Compromise, spear-phishing, whaling, blackmail, data dumps etc.
