Leading a Sustainable Economy Forum

Sustainability is the foundation for today’s leading global framework for international cooperation and the cornerstone of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 launched by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa - together with the principles of competitiveness and fairness driving development and lasting change.

Bahrain has taken major steps towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations General Assembly, aligning its national development agenda accordingly and ever since Bahrain has seen noticeable effort and progress on the sustainable development front.

Under the Patronage of His Excellency Eng. Basim Bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, Minister of Housing and Chairman of Eskan Bank, Eskan Bank and BIBF announced the inauguration of a Forum on Sustainable Development bringing together some of the region’s most prominent Speakers and experts in this field. The Forum will address key topics around Sustainable Development covering different tracks, including Leadership, Performance Measurement, Affordable Housing, Innovation and Human Capital.

The Forums aims to establish a platform to discuss the most pressing Sustainability topics with a global lens and a regional focus and to arrive at findings and practical recommendations to create real on-ground impact and change.

“Leading a Sustainable Economy” is a one-day hybrid Forum running from 9AM - 2PM Bahrain time and will be held at BIBF, Bahrain Bay.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has adopted the Sustainable Development Goals into the Government Action Plan to harmonise the country’s vision, plans and policies with these goals. This encompasses supporting an enabling environment for Sustainable Development Initiatives in different sectors including providing housing solutions to the citizens. The real estate sector is a catalyst of economic growth, as it presents socioeconomic development inclusion as well as growth opportunities.
