The BIBF conducts a training workshop on Islamic Banking Regulations
As part of its efforts to raise the Regulatory Compliance awareness of Islamic Banking industry practitioners, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has conducted a training workshop on Islamic Banking Regulations (Rulebook Volume 2) – Compliance & Regulation for Islamic Banks under the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).
The training workshop covered important areas of CBB regulatory requirements such as Licensing Requirements, Regulated Activities, Control Functions, Fit & Proper Rule Requirements, Licensing Conditions, High-Level Controls, Principles of Business, Reporting Requirements & CBB’s Enforcement Procedures, and the Relationship between AAOIFI Standards & CBB Rule Book V2.
A group of participants representing several Banks in Bahrain attended the training workshop, delivered by the Principal Lecturer of Islamic Finance Centre, Dr. Ahmed Asad. Dr. Asad stressed on the importance of this workshop in improving the quality of the industry practitioners in terms of enhancing the compliance culture in the Islamic banking Institutions in Bahrain.
