The BIBF Highlights the Importance of Professional Qualifications

As part of its collaboration with University of Bahrain (UoB), the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) held an information session on the importance of Professional Qualifications to UoB students at the Sakheer Campus. Earlier this year, UoB has collaborated with the BIBF to develop collaborative activities in the areas of academia, research and professional training.

The session aimed at acquainting students with the importance of professional qualifications and improving their learning prospects. The session focused on the latest trends in education whereby academic certificates are coupled with sector-specific professional qualification.

The President of UoB, Prof. Riyad Y. Hamzah said, “Increasingly, professional qualifications are being recognised as an integral hiring requirement for employers who seek graduates with both academic and professional experience. Therefore, we at the University of Bahrain believe in embedding the culture of professional qualifications into our offerings in order to provide students with unlimited professional development opportunities.”

The BIBF’s Director, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hameed AlShaikh stated, “Employers are increasingly requesting a greater element of vocational training be introduced alongside academic studies, and the BIBF serves as an incubator for the world’s leading professional qualifications. The BIBF offers courses in several areas of specialisation, provided in collaboration with globally-recognised awarding bodies with the aim to equip university students with the skills and knowledge required to fulfil the growth objectives of the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
