The BIBF launches new classrooms to accommodate the increasing demand

In the presence of His Excellency, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain and Chairman of BIBF, Mr. Rasheed Mohammed AlMaraj, along with the institute’s esteemed Board Members, The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) announced the launch of its new state-of-the-art extension to accommodate the growing demand for training and development. Six new classrooms were inaugurated by his Excellency, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

On this occasion, the Director of the BIBF, Dr. Ahmed AbdulHameed AlShaikh, said, “The BIBF’s commitment to supporting the financial sector is at the heart of our objectives. Our ambition is to improve access to high quality education thus helping the Kingdom enhance its competitiveness in the global economy. The new classrooms are designed to fit more than 160 students, which will help us accommodate a larger group of learners.” He also added, “We are proud to work towards developing all necessary facilities to accommodate students not only on the training and development side, but also for academic students who are wishing to complete their Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.”

On his part, Head of Operations, IT & Project Management at the BIBF, Mr. Ahmed Naeemi, said, “With this new extension we have added several new classrooms that are equipped with smart boards. The smart room’s status display devices and digital directional signage were implemented along with the necessary air conditioning, fire detection system, and emergency exits, and all necessary fittings and other training requirements. The project was coordinated with Capital Municipality and Civil Defense and took 45 days to complete.”

To accommodate the increased demand for training, the BIBF’s new iconic building in Bahrain Bay will be ready by 2020, with more than 23,000 square meters, including nine floors, with more than 50 lecture halls and a state-of-the-art auditorium that can accommodate more than 400 attendees, a car park building, applying the latest technology, quality and environmental protection standards.
