The BIBF signs an agreement with LOMA
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has signed an agreement with Life Office Management Association (LOMA) – a global leader in life and health management training, serving the international insurance marketing for nearly a century – to translate and disseminate LOMA’s Associate, Life Management Institute (ALMI) designation in Arabic.
LOMA is one of the largest trade associations in the insurance industry. It offers an employee training and development programme used by the majority of American life insurance companies and by life insurance companies in over 80 countries worldwide.
This milestone allows both organisations to make this international qualification accessible to the region in the native language of the learner and contributes to fulfilling a market gap in the regional industry for skilled, internationally qualified human capital. Translated by the BIBF, the courses are scheduled to be launched in 2018.
“Currently LOMA offers its qualifications across the globe, in eight languages. We are thrilled at the opportunity to work with the BIBF to offer the ALMI designation in Arabic as well,” said Bernard Retali, president of LIMRA LOMA Europe, Middle East & Africa, “This partnership will offer LOMA’s in-depth curriculum on life insurance operations, management, investment principles and institutional investing to an important region for the global insurance industry. We look forward to further strengthening our presence in the region through our partnership with the BIBF.”
The BIBF’s Head of the Centre for Insurance, Ms. Manal Mashkoor stated: “The BIBF constantly seeks innovative ways to further enrich programmes and training methods, bringing international qualifications to the local and regional market. The collaboration with LOMA, a leading global provider of life and health management training, will provide the industry with highly specialised, quality education in our native language. We look forward to the continuous expansion of our offerings with similar qualifications and global partnerships in the area of insurance.”
