The BIBF welcomes new students and faculty members in a Virtual Induction Session
Wednesday, September 23, 2020
More than 100 students attended the annual Student Induction Day conducted virtually by the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) for the new entrants of its International Foundation Programme and the Bangor University Programme, in an interactive session via Microsoft Teams.
The BIBF had recently announced moving to full virtual delivery for the next semester of the academic year 2020-2021, in line with the national efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure the health and safety of students and members.
During the sessions, the freshers were taken through the journey of learning more about the relevant rules and policies in place. They were also given guidelines on how to access their online classrooms via the BIBF’s e-Learning Platform MyClass 2.0, as well as provided room to ask questions regarding existing policies and processes, with all questions being answered during the session and referred to relevant team members for more details and clarifications.
The Induction Session concluded with Ila Bank – Bahrain’s fast-growing digital, mobile-only bank – providing them with a short overview of the Bank, as well as internship opportunities in place for students. Also, the new students participated in a short quiz designed by the Bank with cash prizes for winners.
Following the Induction Day, the students attended a Virtual Engagement Session hosted by the Founder & Managing Director of Tumooh, Mr. Mohamed Ali, to learn more about the power of online learning, careers perspectives, team collaboration, and basic presentation skills, in an informative fun session. The session also included an online competition with valuable prizes for winning students.
Earlier this month, the BIBF’s Head of Academic Centre Dr. Raja Bucheery conducted an Induction Programme for the faculty members that included the Centre’s policies and guidelines with regards to curriculum structure and design, student assessments, class attendance, learning resources, and use of e-learning platform, to ensure effective and quality learning experience to students.
